Inositol – The “Growth Factor” of Health
Inositol, also known as cyclohexanehexol, is a water-soluble vitamin and belongs to the B-vitamin group. Odorless and slightly sweet (about 50% as sweet as sucrose), it is an essential component for the growth of humans, animals, and microorganisms. It finds wide-ranging applications in the pharmaceutical, food, and other industries, often used as a nutritional fortifier in food products.

Benefits

  • Inositol promotes cell growth and participates in various metabolic activities within the body. It plays a crucial role in synthesizing precursors such as inositol phospholipids, membrane phospholipids, and myo-inositol, which are essential for maintaining physiological functions, especially in liver and bone cells. It offers protective effects for the liver.
  • Inositol can improve the menstrual cycle of patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), stimulate ovulation, and induce metabolic changes. It is effective and safe in treating PCOS-IR (Insulin Resistance) and may become a commonly used medication in the future.
  • Inositol is associated with the activation of muscle inositol and glucose transporters and glucose utilization. It can also improve glucose metabolism in postmenopausal metabolic syndrome patients, alleviate insulin resistance, and reduce blood lipid levels.
